In recent years, TU/e has taken steps toward sustainability, starting with the establishment of the GO Green Office in 2016. In 2021, Anna Wieczorek became Sustainability Ambassador, and a team was formed to promote sustainable practices across university operations, governance, research, and education. To emphasize sustainability’s importance, the GO Green Office will present a symbolic "future chair" to the TU/e Executive Board at the 2023 Opening of the Academic Year (OAY), reminding leaders to prioritize sustainability in decision-making. This initiative, inspired by Jan Terlouw's #ToekomstStoel, aims to raise awareness and encourage lasting change at TU/e.
